Advertising wants to make a change in the world- Multicultural Creative Career

Last week, on October 30th, I had the pleasure to attend the conference, “Here Are All The Black People”, an annual multicultural creative career fair. The one-day event took place at the Times Center, and it gathered around 200 people, including students and professionals from the industry. The whole event, sponsored by “The One Club”, offered different activities and conferences, to meet and learn from top professionals of the advertising industry. This was a huge opportunity to learn, share ideas with people with similar interests, network with creative professionals from the best advertising agencies in the world, and even to show them my work and portfolio. The event started early in the morning around 8:00 am. As soon as we got there we could enjoy an amazing breakfast in the lobby and we could start networking. HEINEKEN: Looking back to go forward By Enmanuel Vargas On Wednesday September 28 th , at the Bing Stage during the 2016 Advertising Week took place the conference “Looking back to go Forward” by Ralph Rijks, the Heineken USA Senior Vice president of Marketing. Rijks is an expert and have occupied supervision and management positions across different roles as regional and local coordination of marketing in retail stores, brand activation and others scenarios which have brought him the knowledge and the expertise needed to apply it in national’s markets as he is doing now in the VP level of Heineken US. During this one-day event, more than 200 participants and i had unprecedented opportunities to showcase our talent, network, learn, interact with and gain invaluable knowledge from top creative professionals in the industry. One of my favorite sessions was the panel discussion: When Advertising matters, by five industry professionals; Susie Nam: Droga5, Karina Wilsher: Anomaly, Jimmy Smith: Amusement Park Entertainment, Pippa Seichrist: Miami Ad School, and Mike Lescarbeau: Carmichael Lynch. The topic for this discussion stemmed due to the current political situation that the country is facing.
