SHE KNOWS NOW SUMMIT



Earlier this month, former BICster Nehal and myself attended the "She Knows Now " an intensive leadership, networking and mindfulness event focused on the next generation of women in leadership. 


The summit was attended by more than 200 women from diverse background and cultural heritage featuring dynamic highly curated panels, workshops, mentorship and networking opportunities for the inspirational multi-faceted millennial woman.





The theme of the Summit was the "Hero's Journey" based on the philosophy of Joseph Campbell that unpacks how heroes are made.While some women are fighting to get on the path of their dreams, or trying to figure out how they fit in this complex world, others have already found and answered their calling. The tracks and workshops provided were divided in 2 groups: the general and advanced track (Level Up + )



Nehal and I were lucky enough to be given the opportunity to attend the advance track (Level UP+ workshops) which consisted on mentor "Office Hours". Small groups meant to give an intimate opportunity to connect with someone who has experience, insight, and authority on the various topics below in a 1-3 person setting. This is an opportunity to get questions asked, perspective, contacts, and to get deep quickly. Nehal and I picked 2 mentorship workshops: mindfulness and business leadership.


In the mindfulness workshop we learned how to leverage emotional intelligence and helpful affirmations to be able to find the right balance in the stressful and sometimes negative place where we live.  On the other hand in the business leadership workshop we got some insights on promoting and leveraging our own brand. 


The Keynote speech was delivered by Tiffany Dufu, Chief Leadership Officer at Levo. Launched in 2012, Levo League encourages women to build a social network devoted to career development. 



Tiffany Dufu is a catalyst-at-large in the world of women’s leadership and the author of Drop the Ball, a memoir and manifesto that shows women how to cultivate the single skill they really need in order to thrive: the ability to let go. Tiffany served as President of The White House Project, as a Major Gifts Officer at Simmons College in Boston, and as Associate Director of Development at Seattle Girls’ School, an institution committed to giving all girls the power to be innovative, confident, critical thinkers.

Overall it was a great conference, where not only we networked with a diversity of strong entrepreneurial woman but also came out inspired and enriched with knowledge on aspects like: career development, personal brand image, creative tech and entrepreneurship... 

We also got tons to eat, drink and a bag full of goodies!!
